Lori Apfel Cardeli, AIA, NCARB Selected as Maryland State SFx Representative for 2025-2026

LACArch is pleased to announce that Lori Apfel Cardeli, AIA, NCARB has been selected by the AIA Maryland Board of Directors to fill the position of AIA SFx Maryland State Rep for 2025-2026.

Approximately 75% of the firms in which AIA members work are small firms (fewer than 10 employees) which equates to approximately 14,500 small firms represented within the organization. The mission of the AIA Small Firm Exchange (SFx) is to advance the mutual interest of architects practicing in small firms by advocating for their value, curating and disseminating the most pertinent resources and information, and informing AIA of the current issues that affect these firms.

Lori is thrilled to represent the State of Maryland in this capacity and is looking forward to collaborating with the national, state, and local chapters on small practice matters.

Lori may be reached at [email protected].
