American Institute of Architects Elevates John F. Corkill, Jr. and Peter V. Noonan to the College of Fellows
COLLEGE PARK, MD – February 14, 2025 – The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is elevating two AIA members from AIA Potomac Valley, John F. Corkill, Jr. and Peter V. Noonan, to its prestigious College of Fellows, AIA’s highest membership honor, for their exceptional work and contributions to architecture and society. Less than three percent of the architecture profession achieve AIA Fellowship. New fellows will be honored at the Investiture and AIA Awards Gala on June 5, 2025, in Boston.
The fellowship program was developed to elevate those architects who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession and made a significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level.

John was recognized for his achievements in “Object 5” (Alternative Career, Service to Society, Volunteer Work) for Service to Society. John is President and Senior Principal of Corkill Cush Reeves Architects in Bowie, MD. He is a long-time leader at the local, state and the national levels of AIA. He is a past president of AIA Potomac Valley and AIA Maryland and has served on the national board of AIA. John exemplifies the three pillars of AIA—Advocacy, Knowledge, and Community—working across these tenets to promote individual growth for architectural professionals and advance collective progress within communities served by architects. |
