Gaithersburg Adopts 2018 Building Codes

The City of Gaithersburg, MD has adopted the 2018 International Codes as of the end of May 2019. All projects applying for a building permit and less than 50% designed are required to use the new codes. Projects greater than 50% designed can follow the 2015 codes until October 31, 2019. Plumbing and natural gas are under the authority of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC), which currently uses the 2018 International Plumbing Code (IPC) and the 2018 International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) – (301) 206-8886.
