Pending Code Change for FirstEnergy’s Pennsylvania Utilities CNC and CBI Programs

ATTENTION PROJECT TEAMS WITH ENERGY EFFICIENCY NEW CONSTRUCTION OR BUILDING RENOVATION PROJECTS IN PENNSYLVANIA

Due to the adoption of IECC 2018 into Pennsylvania’s Uniform Construction Code, FirstEnergy’s Pennsylvania Utilities (Met Ed, Penelec, Penn Power, West Penn Power) will be updating the Commercial New Construction (CNC) and Custom Building Improvements Assistance (CBI) programs beginning June 1, 2022.

New construction and/or major renovation projects enrolled and permitted after this date will be required to use the new code.

Submission of projects to the new construction and/or major renovation program that are in the works, or permitted, before June 1, 2022, may be evaluated using the current program code baseline, which could potentially realize higher energy savings and incentives.
