Living, Moving LEAFHouse

You have never seen LEAFHouse like this before, but you should! I was fortunate to see the preview performance of abund[dance]. University of Maryland graduate Chelsea Boyd Brown’s choreography for her group of five dancers, with live harp and vocal accompaniment, interacts with the building, the surrounding environment and the cozy group of audience members in ways that reinforce the idea of building a sustainable community. It was refreshing to see movement and hear music at LEAFHouse, animating the beauty and serenity of a place where I am usually so focused on chapter and foundation activities, I don’t always remember to appreciate how amazing a space it is.

You have two opportunities coming up to appreciate this space for yourself. Come out next Saturday, April 30 for our free Maryland Day Open House and reserve your ticket for one of the abun[dance] shows on May 13 and 14. The dance moves through and around LEAFHouse, so audiences for each show are limited to 15. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience LEAFHouse in a lively new way!
