AIAPV has partnered with Grimm + Parker Architects to offer a limited number of seats for live webinars of the firm's Lunch & Learn CEU events on the first Tuesday of each month. AIA credits will be reported by the presenting vendors. Registration through AIAPV is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Registrants will receive the WebEx log in credentials the day before the webinar.

Course Description

This course covers the proper use, specification and design selection for Spray-applied Fire Resistive Materials.  Learn how ever changing maintenance and code requirements affect your specifications and designs.  Discover how to integrate various types for fireproofing into your building to meet your owners code required needs.

• General UL testing requirements, procedures and restrictions.
• Be sure your information is complete, correct, concise, and clear.
• ASTM standards/requirements.
• Proper product specification, placement, and scheduling.
• Critical issues in today’s market.
• How materials are to be installed and protected during the construction phase.
• Finding materials to fit your system, not the system to fit materials.
• Testing criteria

SFRM (Spray-Applied Fire Resistive Materials)
• Commercial Density -- Concealed materials
• Medium Density -- for Moderate Physical Abuse and/or Indirect Weather Exposure
• High Density -- for Heavy Physical Abuse and/or Direct Exterior Exposure

Thin-Film Intumescent- the aesthetic fireproofing
• Cafco® SprayFilm™ (Interior Water Based) WB 3 & WB 5, {Exterior} WB 4. Providing one to four-hour fire ratings.

Semi-Rigid Board Fireproofing
• Cafco® Board (One to four hour ratings) –Specialty item that provides almost unlimited options. Clean application that may assist the fireproofing schedule.
