This program will help you identify, adopt, and implement best practices for Stormwater Management and Drainage Design. A panel of experts will explore issues and solutions as well as answer questions from the audience.

1. Learn about the applicable Storm Water Management (SWM) and Drainage regulations that apply to single family residential design in Montgomery County and how project size and type impact which regulations apply.
2. Understand the various strategies available for SWM, including grading; dry wells; ponds; rain barrels and cisterns; and rain gardens, bioswales, and bioretention.
3. Understand how to assess the scope of work during the design process so that the SWM and drainage design meets Montgomery county SWM requirements.
4. Understand how to identify and troubleshoot installation issues in the field. Know when to call in expert consultation.
