This program promotes acoustically mindful design and educates on the effects sound has on occupant health and welfare. Attendees will become familiar with these effects, how to manipulate interior acoustics, and the importance of accounting for acoustics early in the project.

Learning objectives:

  1. Become aware of the health and psychological effects of interior acoustics.
  2. Understand the principles of sound: Reverberation, Reflection, Absorption and NRC Ratings.
  3. Be knowledgeable of current requirements, codes, mandates and regulations regarding interior acoustics.
  4. Recognize the importance of accounting for acoustics early in the design phase.
