Course Description:
Moisture related problems, from both installation issues and natural causes, are the leading source of tile application failures. This course will focus on using Cement Coated XPS to completely manage that moisture, while also offering a high performing tile substrate. Some of the major areas of emphasis will include shower floors and walls for both residential and commercial applications.
Learning Objectives:
- The characteristics of Extruded Polystyrene Foam (XPS) and it’s uses in tile applications.
- The types of products the can be produced with a CementCoated XPS, and how these products create a 100%waterproof tile application.
- About the effects of water and/or moisture damage to tileapplications that are not 100% waterproof, and how a CementCoated XPS substrate will protect those applications frommold, mildew and structural damage.
- The proper installation methods associated with CementCoated XPS substrates, and how these methods offer a 100%waterproof application.
