Live Webinar with Grimm + Parker 

AIAPV has partnered with Grimm + Parker Architects to offer a limited number of seats for live webinars of the firm's Lunch & Learn CEU events on the first Tuesday of each month. AIA credits will be reported by the presenting vendors. Registration through AIAPV is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Registrants will receive the WebEx log in credentials the day before the webinar.

Flexible Space Design Trends

Course Description

The purpose of this course is to explore space utilization trends and challenges in three major practice area: Corporate (workspace), Hospitality and Academic (primary and higher ed). Also to understand acoustics and the acoustical control in those spaces and to investigate how space flexibility can impact design.

Learning objectives

  1. To explore space utilization trends and challenges – doing more with less space, increasing the need for flexibility - in three major areas.
  2. To explore what space flexibility really means – to the design professional, to the client, and to the people inhabiting the space.
  3. To understand overall acoustics and acoustical ratings and how they are tested.
  4. To understand the importance of acoustical control in all types of spaces - how “noise” can affect productivity, learning and revenue.
  5. To explore how the need and demand for flexibility can impact the overall design of the space both structurally and aesthetically.
