The Montgomery County Planning Department (M-NCPPC) Design Excellence Award
Celebrate Design 2019, on Thursday, October 17 at AMP by Strathmore, will be the AIA Potomac Valley Chapter’s biggest event of the year, highly anticipated as an opportunity for architects to network with professional peers and celebrate the best work of our members and our region, with the presentation of our Excellence in Design Awards and the second annual Emerging Leader Award. This celebration will bring together urban designers, architects, landscape architects, planners, developers, builders, policymakers, elected officials, design professionals, artists and interested community members from across Montgomery County and the region.
Celebrate Design 2019 will be co-hosted by the Montgomery County Planning Department, which will present its annual Design Excellence Awards at the event. Visit our website to view photos from Celebrate Design 2017.

Voting for AIA Potomac Valley project entries closes October 3
We invite you to vote for your favorite project – a place you'd like to live, work or play – submitted to AIA Potomac Valley’s 2019 Excellence in Design Awards. Categories of projects include institutional, commercial, residential, interior, small projects and unbuilt architecture, as well as urban design and master planning. Only one vote across all categories is permitted. The projects receiving the highest number of votes – one Residential and one Non-Residential – will receive a People’s Choice Award in the form of a certificate. All Winners (Professional program and People's Choice) will be announced at Celebrate Design 2019 at AMP by Strathmore in North Bethesda on October 17.
