Directions

Schedule:

Noon: Lunch and Retrofit Program
Afternoon: Tour Experience Center; Tour Ranson Plant

On September 27, ROCKWOOL is hosting AIAPV members and colleagues for a tour of its new plant in Ranson, West Virginia (near Charles Town, WV), and an expanded educational program. The program starts at noon with a lunch provided by ROCKWOOL and a course on Durable and Resilient Retrofits. This will be followed by a tour of Ranson’s Experience Center, where attendees can use the sound tunnel and interact with various displays on fire and vapor permeability, as well as materials that go into stone wool insulation.

Finally, attendees will tour the Ranson plant, inside and out, learning its layout and manufacturing processes, as well as witnessing its packing and shipping operations.

ROCKWOOL’s factory utilizes industry-leading melting and emissions abatement technologies, including ROCKWOOL's award-winning fuel-flexible melting technology that makes it possible for the factory to start operations using natural gas instead of coal, thereby reducing the facility’s CO2 emissions by approximately 30 percent.

This event is free for all to attend, and registration is required. The deadline to register is September 23. Altogether, the tour program will provide 3 LU/HSW credits to AIA members. Attendees must attend the entire event to receive credits. Please join us on September 27!
