Door Hardware Collaboration: A Consultative Approach

Course Description:

Collaborating on door hardware doesn’t need to be hard, but it does take time. This course will help you understand the information a door hardware consultant needs to provide a quality door hardware specification. By improving coordination with the related specification sections, you can help avoid problems with door hardware that are often seen during construction.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Value involving a hardware consultant early—during initial Design Development or before!
2. Learn the importance of determining hardware preferences before a specification is written.
3. Provide the information needed for the specification: applicable codes, complete door schedule, etc.
4. Improve communication and collaboration with stakeholders to reduce errors, time delays, code issues and cost overruns.
