Course Description:

Join AIAPV and the Capital Area CRAN for a construction tour led by Cedar Architecture of this house while the walls are still open. This tour offers the chance to see the hidden work behind the drywall that helps a house achieve PASSIVE HOUSE certification. There will be a group Happy Hour following the tour at a local venue within walking distance.

AIAPV Annual Partner Precision Property Measurements (PPM) is proud to have been a part of this project early on. Regional Director of PPM Justin Yotter will lead a demo of the Laser Scanning and As-Built process to showcase why they are a premier provider of As-Builts. 

Meeting Location: Front Porch of Home. For privacy reasons, exact address will be provided to registrants via email prior to the tour.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will better understand the wall construction issues that arise with super-insulated construction.
  2. Participants will be able to discuss the various components of HVAC, electrical/solar and plumbing systems that create PASSIVE HOUSE ratings.
  3. Participants will be able to describe issues that arise with structures that are built beyond code for off-the-grid living.
  4. Participants will better understand the process of PASSIVE HOUSE certification.
