Selecting Resinous Floor and Walls for Design and Performance
Course Description:
This presentation reviews polymer flooring and wall systems, and, distinguishes the differences between coatings, broadcast, self-leveling and trowel applied flooring systems. Applications and areas of use are reviewed for industrial and/or commercial environments. Topics such as chemical resistance, design, performance technology, surface preparation, installation techniques and engineering details are presented.

Learning Objectives:
- To understand the different resin options available, the features and benefits associated with the specific resin, and how they are incorporated into different flooring and wall coating options.
- Educating the audience on how resinous flooring systems can promote safety and how they can contribute to LEED certification by offering low VOC options. Review of sustainability certifications, CDPH, HPD's, EPD's as well as discussion about Red List free options.
- To understand the many environments and applications where a resinous floor and wall system can provide solutions that are long-lasting, low maintenance, safe, seamless all while offering exceptional design capabilities.
- To teach the importance of proper preparation of existing substrates, with attention to required construction details, concrete moisture and RH considerations, the installation process, proper mixing and application, and how all contribute to the success of a new floor/wall application.
