Course Description:

This course focuses on the incorporation of advanced rainscreen design. Participants of this course will be provided an overview and examination of the benefits of incorporating rainscreen into their cladding design as an added protection from moisture intrusion. Learning Objectives

By completing this course, the design professional will be able to:

  1. Identify the risks faced by a building and its occupants, should moisture penetrate inward.

  2. Discuss the products defined as ‘rainscreens,’ designed to repel descending and windblown precipitation at the outer face of the wall.

  3. Explain how a “rainscreen” is not a single product, but rather an assembly of materials working together on a façade.

  4. Analyze the importance, advantages and proper performance gained by incorporating pressure equalized rainscreen systems in the design of a facade.
