Interior Engineered Woods – The Next Generation
This course covers the changing demands in modern construction and its effects on real wood finishes. We will review wood performance, its limitations and proper risk assessments to better specify the best product and systems. We will discuss the technical advancements in engineered wood finishes to provide enhanced performance for specific applications.

Learning objectives

Recognize and understand the changing demands in the construction industry concerning the use of real natural hardwood finishes.

Develop a better understanding of real natural hardwood performance, limitations and risk assessment for success in specifying the best product and systems.

Review technical advancements in engineered hardwood finishes to provide enhanced performance for specific applications.

Understand and evaluate the use of engineered woods in various interior finish applications and selection of attachment and sub-framing systems to achieve the desired design intent.
