Wood Framed Building Enclosure Construction Troubleshooting

This presentation will define the term building enclosure, review the importance of the environmental control layers in preventing building enclosure related distress in wood-framed construction, and discuss building enclosure design considerations and materials selection in wood framed construction. Case studies and design details will be reviewed/discussed to highlight challenges in maintaining an airtight and watertight building enclosure in wood framed construction.

  4. Understand building enclosure design solutions for typical balcony and parapet configurations in wood framed construction.
