BUILDING THE FUTURE: UNFINISHED BUSINESS IN AFFORDABLE HOUSING

On May 10, 2024, the Affordable Housing Conference of Montgomery County (AHCMC) will convene the 33rd annual Affordable Housing Summit. The theme this year, “Building the Future: Unfinished Business in Affordable Housing” reflects the disheartening status of affordable housing today. Affordable housing continues to be difficult to develop. Too many households are overburdened with high housing costs. We believe strongly that discussing and executing bold ideas is the most important way to achieve true progress.
This year, we are convening an acclaimed series of speakers, panelists, and attendees. These experts will explore a range of critical issues, including affordable housing design issues, innovative financing techniques, rent stabilization laws, racial equity: past and future, and regional zoning issues. Conference attendees will hear from Keynote speakers during the Luncheon Session, which is followed by award presentations that salute architectural advances for affordable housing design, affordable housing development, and public and community service.
