AIAPV has partnered with Torti Gallas + Partners to provide a limited number of slots for live webinar access to the firm's Lunch & Learn CEU events, held on one Wednesday each month. We are grateful for Torti Gallas' support, which allows the chapter to offer this valuable benefit to our members.
Health, Safety and Wellness of Rainscreen Cladding and the Use of Solid Wall Terra-cotta
This program will educate and explore the use of terracotta rainscreen versus barrier wall systems for the prevention of water penetration through the building envelope and displays how the material provides HSW benefits on each job. This is to include the history and development of rainscreen technology including manufacturing, installation, finish details for systems and ways to specify the product.
Credits:

Please note: You must attend the entire session to receive continuing education credit.
Learning Objectives:
- Explain the principles of rainscreen façade design and how rainscreen systems manage moisture and improve building performance.
- Describe the manufacturing process of solid-wall terracotta and identify the material characteristics that result from the production process.
- Identify the primary components and explain the installation methods used to incorporate solid-wall terracotta into a building façade system.
- Evaluate the available design options for solid-wall terracotta and assess the aesthetic, performance, and sustainability benefits of each.
- Analyze how terracotta sunscreens contribute to energy efficiency, solar control, and occupant comfort within the built environment.
- Assess the advantages of utilizing solid-wall terracotta in renovation and recladding projects, including durability, sustainability, and building performance improvements.
