Join us for the monthly Small Practice Group meeting to learn about flooring for today’s front porches. The presentation will be given by Scott Bosse of Aeratis.

  • To provide a basic education of the different tongue-and-groove materials available in the market today.

  • To understand the considerations when selecting a porch flooring material for different applications.

  • To make recommendations for specifying and etailing tongue-and-groove porch flooring that will perform based on the different design needs.

  • To understand the limitations to current building materials used for porch flooring.

  • To increase understanding about the harsh environment of the porch and how to specify for reduced maintenance.

Learning Objectives:

  • List and outline the challenges of existing materials and the benefits of utilizing high performance synthetics in traditional porch applications.

  • Discuss design and planning around the limitations of current material options and the flexibility of high performance materials provided for the T&G porch floor.

  • Describe the steps for framing and installation options for the different types of applications.

  • Identify how to add finishing touches to increase curb appeal and reduce/eliminate long-term maintenance.
